Alejandro Dergal has been living in Overland Park, Kansas with his wife - Sarah Rose - and two dogs - B and P - for the past three years. He spends his days educating children in private music lessons for clarinet, saxophone and piano. Also, Alejandro is Principal Clarinet of the Topeka Symphony, and he performs on a regular basis with the Kansas City Symphony as a Substitute Musician. Over the course of eight years Mr. Dergal earned music degrees from Oberlin Conservatory and the Yale School of Music. Actively engaged with the work of education, Alejandro has formed a musical pedagogy that advances a student’s instrumental capacities while teaching them how patience and empathy help achieve long term goals. In his spare time Alejandro reads about American history, rides around on his bicycle, and meditates on a daily basis.
