Hi there! I’m Aviana Burkepile, a passionate voice and piano teacher with years of experience helping students of all ages and skill levels find their musical groove. With a background in opera performance and years of teaching experience at both private studios and music schools, I’m here to help you build confidence and enjoy the magic of making music!
Whether you’re a complete beginner, a seasoned performer, or just looking to sing your heart out or have fun, I’m all about making lessons exciting, engaging, and stress-free. My teaching style is tailored to you — want to belt out your favorite songs? Explore classical repertoire? Improve your technique or music theory skills? We’ll create a plan that fits your goals and keeps things fun.
Music is for everyone, and I believe learning should be a joyful experience. Expect laughter, creativity, and plenty of “aha!” moments along the way. Let’s get started and make some music together!
I hold a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Rice University and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Oberlin Conservatory. Throughout my career, I’ve performed iconic roles like Nero in Agrippina, Dorabella in Così fan tutte, and Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, with companies including Shepherd School of Music and Oberlin Opera Theater. I was also honored to receive an Encouragement Award from the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition in 2022.
