Hello! Thank you for your interest in music lessons. I’m a professional teacher, studio musician, performer, and producer with over 30 years of experience. I graduated from the University of Miami's Studio Music and Jazz program in 2002, specializing in guitar. I teach guitar (acoustic, electric, classical), piano, ukulele, bass guitar, banjo, and mandolin for all ages and skill levels, covering styles from pop to rock to classical. I also offer lessons in music theory, ear training, composition, recording, producing and mixing. Born in Cali, Colombia, I started piano at age 6 and later found my passion for guitar. I studied jazz guitar at the New World School of the Arts, receiving the DownBeat Jazz Award for best instrumental soloist. This led me to the University of Miami, where I honed my skills as a guitarist and began teaching. My experience spans various genres, from jazz combos to symphony orchestras and rock bands. As a studio guitarist, I've recorded for artists like Jaci Velasquez and Carlos Ponce. I believe every student is unique, and I tailor lessons to align with your musical passions and goals. We’ll work together to create a personalized lesson plan that ensures a well-rounded music education while keeping lessons enjoyable and relaxed. I’ll play with you, emphasizing the joy of sharing music from the start. Whether you want to accompany yourself, write songs, read music, or just jam out to your favorite tunes, you’ll be well on your way to achieving your goals within six months. I look forward to making music with you!
