The aspiring violinist, Hyeji Jeong was born and raised in South Korea. Her musical training began with learning piano at age three and switched to violin at age seven. In South Korea, she was invited to perform as a guest member of the National Independence Special Orchestra at the Korean Broadcast Station Concert Hall, various embassy events such as the reception for the 50th anniversary of the South Korea and Ethiopia relationship and end-of-year celebration, and Korean national events such as Ahn Jung-Geun memorial concerts which she has participated in several years and Yi Jun memorial service in Seoul. She has received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Embassy of Ethiopia and Ahn Jung-Geun Memorial Hall. Hyeji has actively performed as a soloist, orchestral musician, and chamber musician. While pursuing her music degrees, she won several awards including a concerto competition and commencement contest, and she performed at various concert halls. She was also involved in recording violin parts for CDs and music videos. Hyeji previously performed as a founding member and violinist of the Genèse String Quartet. Hyeji has previously attended prestigious music festival/seminar such as the Bowdoin International Music Festival in the summer of 2022, University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music Chamber Music Intensive in January 2023, Calidore String Quartet Seminar in January 2024, and Juilliard String Quartet Seminar in May 2024. She has received chamber coaching from Kurt Sassmannshaus, Philip Ying, Liz Freivogel, Alexandra Kazovsky, Amit Even-Tov, Gershon Gerchikov, Ayane Kozasa, Kristin Lee, Keith Robinson, Sandra Rivers, Nick Photinos, Calidore String Quartet members, and Juilliard String Quartet members. Hyeji received a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees with a graduate assistantship from Pensacola Christian College and currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, studying under Kurt Sassmannshaus.
