American soprano India Rowland has been praised for her “full command of the stage and fetching demeanor, combined with a warm timbre has made her a real discovery” (South Florida Classical Review), during her performance of Cherubino with the Miami Music Festival. Previous performances include the roles of Zweite Dame in Die Zauberflote and Zina in Dark Sisters with Mannes Opera, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro with Utah Vocal Arts Academy, Mary Warren in The Crucible with the Berlin Opera Academy, and First Lady in Die Zauberflote with Manhattan Opera Studio. India is a graduate of Oberlin Conservatory with a Bachelor of Music and is currently pursuing her Masters of Music at the Mannes School of Music under the tutelage of William Burden.
As an educator, India has experience with the New York kids Club where she coached Rock Climbing as well as assisted with preschool. She also was a member of the Events Team where she helped lead Birthday Parties and PJ parties on the weekend. India's teaching foundation is in Classical Voice but her main goal is helping singers become confident in their voice and their performances! She also assists in audition prep and how to find the meaning behind the text that one is singing.
