Lucia Pontoniere is a musician, creator, and educator from San Francisco. Her musical journey began at age 6 with the violin, evolving over more than two decades from classical to jazz, Irish, and old-time fiddle. During college, she began playing guitar and songwriting. In 2018, she earned a degree from Berklee College of Music in Violin Performance and American Roots Music.
After graduation, Lucia toured nationwide and internationally, participated in recording sessions both individually and with her band, The Ladles, and worked on recording projects for TV shows. During this time, she also explored songwriting and guitar.
When not performing, Lucia shares her passion by teaching violin, guitar, and voice, with a particular interest in guiding classical violinists into diverse musical styles. She has taught music in schools, at music programs, privately, and in groups to students of all ages and skill levels. As a teacher, her approach is rooted in joy, excitement, and tailoring lessons to each student's interests. Lucia firmly believes in unlocking the creativity within everyone and finds great joy in helping people of all ages discover and express their musical voice.
