Tara L. Chapman is a Music Teacher/Vocal Coach in the Connecticut area where she began singing and playing the piano at the age of nine from various teachers throughout the area including the Neighborhood Music School and the Educational Center for the Arts. In 1992 Tara was accepted into the Berklee College of Music where she received her bachelor’s in music education. While studying at Berklee Tara learned to coach students in vocal techniques, stage presence, and ear training etc. Tara has had the opportunity to tour Europe with the Glory Gospel Singers, she has also performed in several off-Broadway Productions including Ragtime, with the Round Table Players, and Hairspray with the Whitney Players in which she portrayed the character Motormouth Maybelle.
Tara was a Music Teacher in the New Haven Public School system for 10 years but has since moved on to become the Music Coordinator at the Highville Charter School. In addition, she had the pleasure of being a vocal /coach at the Amity Music Academy in Woodbridge, CT. She then moved on to the New Haven Academy of the Performing Arts in which she was also the Music Director of the Musical Theater Intensives for five years. Tara is also the assistant director of the children’s choir at the First Baptist Church in Milford CT. Currently Tara has had the pleasure if becoming a simulated patient actor for Yale University, Southern Connecticut State University, UConn Health and Quinnipiac University. In August of 2017 Tara completed her studies at the Liberty University School of Music, where she received her master’s in music and worship. Her Passion is to teach the world to sing, while building her student’s self-esteem.
